While I love dresses and skirts and all those pretty things, I have to admit that I’m more of a jeans person in actuality due to their functionality and ability to go with just about anything in my closet. Especially between seasons when dressing get’s tough, I always go back to my usual jeans, that is, until now!
Lets Talk Sweater Dresses
Introducing the Sweater Dress–I never really owned a sweater dress or even really gave them that much thought until I got a couple from The Fifth Label. Even when I was trying them on, I was torn…thinking…”yeahh this is cute….but when am I going to wear this? It will either be too warm or too cold ughhhhh!” Aaaaand that’s where I was wrong! I wore this pistachio sweater dress for the first time at the beginning of Fall and the photos above are from my birthday, which is in the middle of November.
I already know what you’re all thinking. I live in California, so sweater dresses shouldn’t be a problem no matter the season, and that’s where I would vehemently tell you that you’re wrong. 🙂 While the weather is GREAT for anyone who’s not a native, having grown up in this California weather my entire life, I have come to realize and accept that my perception of warm and cold is extremely different from anyone else who hasn’t grown up here. Think of me like a hedgehog–I can only exist in very specific temperature ranges…LOL
So when I say sweater dresses are AMAZING for transitional style between seasons, I really mean it! There’s literally sweater dresses made from SO MANY different types of knit, some heavier and some lighter, all depending on what kind of weather you’re dressing for. While it’s not hard to style them in the Fall or Spring, Winter is definitely a little more tricky, but not to worry! I have styling tips for you guys who can’t stand the cold like myself coming up in the next post! Until then, take a look at my favorite sweater dresses for the upcoming Spring season!
